- Infections: Such as meningitis or encephalitis.
- Genetic conditions: Including sickle cell disease, Moyamoya disease, or blood clotting disorders.
- Vascular anomalies: Such as arteriovenous malformations (AVM).
- Trauma: Injuries to the head or neck.
