Our attention has been drawn to a video on social media that accuses the Hospital of using babies as collateral for the debts owed the Hospital by their mothers.
It is difficult to understand the rationale for this bizarre allegation except to surmise that the authors could have an ulterior motive to use the video to solicit for funds in the name of the so-called detained babies.
We thus wish to advise philanthropic individuals and organizations not to offer support to any individual or organization that purports to raise funds to secure the freedom of ‘collaterised’ babies in the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
